Yesterday during the confirmation hearing of Amy Coney-Barrett Sen. Cory Booker (D-NJ) whined that Barrett was offensive for using the word sexual preference, which has been common vernacular for quite some time. Booker and other Democrats jumping on any reason to attack Barrett over saying “preference” all used the talking point that it means she believes homosexuality is a choice. The idea of homosexuality being a choice is antithetical to the Left’s messaging on victimhood which is why they have such an adverse reaction.
As recently as last month, Webster’s Dictionary included a definition of “preference” as “orientation” or “sexual preference.” TODAY they changed it and added the word “offensive."
Insane – I just checked through Wayback Machine and it’s real.

Because so many people brought up the definition of “preference” after the Left cobbled together a talking point to justify their hate, Webster’s dictionary proved to be more of an ally to the Left’s false messaging, then they are a source for anything truthful.
